Whole Wheat Biscuits- Atta Biscuits

These are traditional Punjabi biscuits and they are my husbands favourite biscuits. In India, we eat these biscuits in the morning and afternoon with chai (masala tea). You dunk them in the tea and hope they don’t break, then quickly pull them out and eat them.

I don’t know if its because we are a half Indian family, but we go through an awful lot of biscuits and cookies. So since I bake all cookies and biscuits myself, we don’t have the trash from the store bought biscuit packaging anymore!

You need:

1cup fine, whole grain flour

1/2 cup butter

1/2cup powders sugar

2-3 tbsp corn flour

1 tsp milk

1/4tsp cardamom powder(optional)

Method:

Knead all ingredients into a smooth dough.

Take a small amount of dough and shape it into a rectangle, then use a fork to press a pattern.

Shape the edges, so the cookie stays in a rectangular shape.

If that’s too complicated, just make round cookies.

Arrange all cookies on a baking tray and bake for 18min at 180c.

Let them cool down on a baking rack and store airtight.
